We are seeking a client-focused Operations Manager with significant expertise in construction special inspections and materials testing. This role will be pivotal in establishing our new lab/office operations. The selected candidate will undergo training primarily at our existing office.

Given the dynamic nature of construction work, adaptability to schedule changes and effective communication with various stakeholders—including clients and contractors—is essential. The ideal candidate will be a proactive individual capable of spearheading the launch of our construction special inspections and quality assurance services in this emerging market.

Key Responsibilities

  • Developing project proposals, service authorizations, budget estimates, and reports.
  • Ensuring quality assurance and client distribution of testing reports, maintaining high standards of deliverables.
  • Creating and managing staffing and scheduling plans.
  • Regularly communicating with department heads and project managers regarding project progress and client expectations.
  • Building and maintaining relationships with clients and participating in regional business development initiatives.
  • Coordinating project billing and collaborating with accounting staff on accounts receivable.
  • Maintaining correspondence with clients about services, scheduling, and project updates.
  • Assisting in staffing and personnel management, including training and development.
  • Adhering to safety policies and procedures.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field is preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience in the industry with relevant certifications.
  • Strong knowledge of field and laboratory testing procedures.
  • Prior experience in project and client management.
  • Ability to maintain professionalism and integrity in all interactions.
  • Fundamental leadership skills, with a focus on mentoring junior staff.
  • Effective organizational skills and the ability to prioritize tasks.
  • Excellent communication skills with prompt responsiveness.
  • Willingness to work in diverse weather conditions and on varied terrain.
  • Detail-oriented with strong writing and computer skills.
  • Flexibility to work varied hours as needed.
  • Valid driver's license for travel to client sites.
  • Ability to obtain necessary clearances for specific projects.
