Job Description

At Jammies Environmental Inc, we are seeking a highly skilled Safety Manager to join our team. This role is responsible for ensuring a safe work environment for all employees and developing effective health, safety, and environmental (HSE) strategies to support our safety goals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement HSE strategies to achieve zero injuries and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Participate in customer safety meetings and perform job walks to ensure safe and healthful conditions for workers.
  • Liaise with risk management entities to manage and mitigate claims and ensure successful outcomes.
  • Participate in audits to ensure safe and healthful conditions for workers and identify areas for improvement.
  • Perform root cause analysis for incidents and near-miss events and prepare corrective action plans to prevent future occurrences.
  • Provide safety and health training for employees at all levels of the organization.
  • Ensure compliance with all regulatory and customer-specific requirements, including Avetta and ISNET databases.
  • Develop and administer recognition systems to promote safe and healthful work performance.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Safety or a related field, or equivalent professional training, certifications, and experience.
  • 5+ years of safety experience gained from working in a manufacturing or transportation operation, with knowledge and experience working with DOT regulations and compliance preferred.
  • Valid driver's license and proof of liability coverage meeting company standards.
  • Ability to pass a criminal background check to work on Railroad, TWIC, and MSHA sites.
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency with Excel and Word, familiarity with Avetta and ISNET compliance platforms preferred.

This is a safety-sensitive position, and pre-employment drug testing, including THC metabolites, will be conducted.
