Job Summary

We're seeking a skilled Service Estimator to join our team in Springfield, MO. As a Service Estimator, you'll work closely with Trane Account Managers and building owners to provide estimates and quotes for HVAC service projects and agreements. Your expertise will help us deliver total solutions that provide our customers with the most energy-efficient buildings.

Responsibilities
  • Create detailed quotes for service agreements and quoted works in support of our Service Account Managers and Controls Service Account Managers.
  • Develop cost estimates consisting of materials, sub-contractors, purchased equipment, labor, and other construction-related activities to assist Account Managers in bidding on or determining project prices.
  • Develop detailed scopes based on Account Managers' design-build scopes, including system sketches, scope definition, exceptions/exclusions, preliminary proposals, vendor/sub-contractor quotes, and points lists.
  • Take off and price purchased equipment to ensure accuracy of quantity, size, configuration, voltage, options, and other relevant details.
  • Identify potential cost-saving opportunities and risk items that may arise on various projects, maintaining a competitive advantage by staying current with industry standards.
  • Develop scopes of work for sub-contractors and negotiate prices with vendors/sub-contractors through quotations for materials and services.
  • Hold job pre-bid meetings with Account Managers to review scope, strategy, and other relevant details.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's or Associate's degree in engineering, engineering technology, or a related field preferred; or minimum one to three years' related estimating experience; or minimum five years' HVAC Technician experience.
  • Working knowledge of all facets of construction, including mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems, preferred.
  • Preferred experience with financial and business acumen and a history of running projects on time and on budget.
  • Proven experience prioritizing tasks to meet tight deadlines in a high-paced environment with attention to detail.
  • Experience working directly with building owners is a plus.
  • Flexibility to work overtime/weekends, as required.
  • Must be able to travel locally on occasion and possess a valid driver's license for a minimum of 12 months, with no major or frequent traffic violations.
Compensation

Base Pay Range: $45,000-$65,000 plus Local Incentive Plan. Total compensation for this role will include a commission/incentive plan. Disclaimer: This base pay range is based on US national averages. Actual base pay could be a result of seniority, merit, geographic location where the work is performed.
