We are seeking a skilled Gas Pipe Fuser to join our team at InterCon Construction, a leading provider of gas main installation services.

Job Overview

As a Gas Pipe Fuser, you will be responsible for fusing plastic gas pipe for gas main installation, working closely with our team to ensure safe and efficient delivery of our services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Fuse plastic pipe to ensure high-quality connections
  • Install gas mains with precision and attention to detail
  • Locate and identify utilities to avoid potential hazards
  • Work collaboratively with Operators as a spotter to ensure seamless operations
  • Configure pipe routes to optimize efficiency and safety
  • Align pipes in pipeline sections to ensure proper fit and function
  • Dig trenches with trenching tools to prepare for pipe installation
  • Slide pipe into trenches with care and precision
  • Grade trenches to ensure proper drainage and stability
  • Seal joints to prevent leaks and ensure a secure connection
  • Verify pipe alignment using grade rods or transit levels
  • Cover pipes or cable with dirt or other material to protect and conceal
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support the team's goals
Requirements and Qualifications
  • Proven experience in fusion and gas main installation
  • Ability to travel to various job sites as required
  • Class A CDL preferred, but not required
  • Previous experience in farming or construction a plus
  • Education in Fusing and/or Gas and Utilities construction a strong asset
  • Experience fusing and installing gas mains and fiber optic cables a significant advantage
  • Valid Driver License required
  • Ability to perform physical tasks such as bending, kneeling, standing, and walking for extended periods
  • Ability to lift, push, and pull heavy objects (50+ pounds) regularly
