Job Summary

Fuse plastic gas pipe for gas main installation as a key member of our team at InterCon Construction. This role requires a strong understanding of fusion techniques and a commitment to ensuring the safe and efficient installation of gas mains.

Key Responsibilities
  • Fuse plastic pipe to ensure leak-free connections
  • Install gas mains in accordance with industry standards
  • Locate and mark underground utilities to avoid damage
  • Work closely with operators to ensure seamless spotter support
  • Configure pipe routes to optimize installation efficiency
  • Align pipes in pipeline sections to ensure proper fit
  • Dig trenches using trenching tools and equipment
  • Slide pipe into trenches and grade for proper alignment
  • Seal joints to prevent leaks and ensure a secure connection
  • Verify pipe fit and alignment using grade rods or transit levels
  • Cover pipes or cable with dirt or other material to protect from damage
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management
  • Pass Fusion Operator Qualifications annually to maintain certification
Requirements
  • Proven experience in fusion and gas main installation
  • Ability to travel to job sites as required
  • Class A CDL preferred, but not required
  • Previous experience in farming or construction a plus
  • Education in fusing and/or gas and utilities construction a plus
  • Experience fusing and installing gas mains and fiber optic cables a plus
  • Valid Driver License required
  • Ability to bend, kneel, stand, and walk for long periods
  • Ability to lift, push, and pull 50+ pounds regularly
