Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Pharmacy Technician I to join our team at Glens Falls Hospital. As a Pharmacy Technician I, you will play a critical role in assisting pharmacists with the manufacturing and dispensing of pharmaceuticals, ensuring the delivery of exceptional patient care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Interpret computer-generated fill lists and load medications using Carousel dispensing technology to provide accurate medication distribution to designated automated dispensing cabinets (ADCs).
  • Assist pharmacists in the timely dispensing of STAT medications, ensuring prompt and efficient service.
  • Generate ADC product activity reports, including current orders, usage, and other relevant data.
  • Perform monthly inspections to maintain a clean and organized work environment.
  • Refill and load ADCs using computer-generated fill lists and bar code scanning technology, ensuring accuracy and efficiency.
  • Refill all kits, both emergent and non-emergent, as needed.
Requirements
  • High School Graduate or Equivalent Certificate.
  • Pharmacy Technician experience preferred.
  • Pharmacy Technician National Certification (e.g., CPhT or ExCPT) and New York State registration required within 1 year of hire date (exceptions can be made for per diem employees).
Preferred Qualifications
  • Language skills: basic communication skills, including the ability to read and interpret memos, operating instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Data entry: accurate data entry, operation of a computer, and learning computer applications specific to the department.
  • Mathematical skills: calculation of doses using ratios, proportions, and algebra.
  • Previous experience with Omnicell, Cerner, RX30, or other similar programs preferred.
  • Understanding of medical terminology preferred.
  • Fluent knowledge of medication brand and generic names required.
  • Previous experience with Microsoft Office or other word processing software preferred.
