Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Payroll Manager to oversee and direct the payroll staff and department operations at Clean Harbors. The successful candidate will ensure that weekly and semi-monthly payrolls are processed and distributed in a timely, accurate, and cost-effective manner.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage the payroll operations process, including HRMS system, associated systems, pre-calculation activities, payroll calculations and confirmation, and coordination of all post-payroll procession activities.
  • Reconcile payroll and perform periodic audits to ensure accuracy and compliance with government regulations.
  • Develop and implement standards, schedules, and guidelines for payroll processing operations.
  • Ensure compliance with statutes and regulations related to payroll, including union, Service Contract Act (SCA), and Davis-Bacon Act (DBA) pay practices.
  • Support operating managers and employees as 'customers' and act as a liaison with peers in HR, MIS, Finance, etc.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in human resources, finance, accounting, business, or related field.
  • Ability to perform multiple tasks, prioritize, and meet deadlines.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Proven leadership attributes, tested decision-making skills, and customer service orientation.
  • Supervisory experience, strong PC and analytical/problem-solving skills, and proficiency in MS Office.
