Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Speech Language Pathologist to join our team at the Virginia Department of Education. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing speech and language therapy to eligible students, administering evaluations, and developing interventions to address speech and language concerns.

Key Responsibilities:

Provide speech and language therapy to eligible students
Administer speech and language evaluations and analyze results
Develop and implement interventions to address speech and language concerns
Serve as a consultant for teachers, parents, and administrators to enhance the academic experience of individual students
Confer with parents, teachers, and students to explain assessment results and discuss implications of instruction
Assist in assuring division compliance to local, state, and federal regulations governing special education

Requirements:

Master's degree in speech language communications or a related field
Speech-Language Pathology License from the Board of Audiology and Speech-Language Pathology- Commonwealth of Virginia
Knowledge of IDEIA and state regulations governing special education
Ability to plan and prioritize work in a timely manner

Working Conditions:

The successful candidate will be required to work in a fast-paced environment and be able to communicate effectively with students, parents, and staff. The position requires the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
