Unit Overview

Our Rehabilitation Unit is a 35-bed facility focused on Patient Family Centered Care (PFCC), catering to individuals with significant therapy requirements. Patients typically stay with us for an average of 12 to 14 days, benefiting from a transitional environment that bridges the gap between hospital care and home recovery. This unit is tailored for those who are medically stable, motivated, and capable of enduring three hours of therapy daily, five days a week. Our multidisciplinary team collaborates with patients, their families, and various healthcare professionals to create personalized treatment plans.

Role Responsibilities

The Registered Nurse (RN) operates within the framework of the nursing process as defined by the ANA scope of practice. The RN delivers professional nursing care by integrating patient-family centered care principles to assess, plan, implement, evaluate, and facilitate discharge processes. Under the guidance of the Nurse Leader, the RN ensures quality patient care in accordance with Corewell Health policies and acknowledges the influence of nursing care and patient/family collaboration on health outcomes. The RN engages with patients and families to incorporate their insights and objectives into care planning, developing educational strategies and documenting learning in health records.

Qualifications

  • Associate's Degree in Nursing is required.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing is required within five years of hire.
  • Graduates from non-accredited nursing programs must possess at least one year of acute care experience or two years in a licensed healthcare role and must have successfully completed the NCLEX licensure examination.
  • Current Michigan Registered Nurse (RN) license is required.
  • AHA or ARC Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required upon hire.
  • Specialty certification is highly recommended within two years.

Work Schedule

This position is full-time, with night shifts scheduled from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM, including every other weekend.
