Key Responsibilities:

  • Offer legal counsel and assistance on various labor and employment topics, including but not limited to employment agreements, workplace protocols, employee relations, terminations, wage and hour compliance, discrimination, harassment, and retaliation cases.
  • Represent clients in employment-related litigation, which encompasses drafting legal documents, managing discovery processes, and making court appearances.
  • Guide clients on compliance with federal, state, and local labor and employment laws and regulations.
  • Conduct internal inquiries regarding employee grievances and workplace matters.
  • Design and implement training sessions on employment law subjects for clients and their workforce.
  • Draft, assess, and negotiate employment-related contracts, including severance agreements, non-compete clauses, and confidentiality agreements.
  • Remain informed about changes in labor and employment law and proactively advise clients on potential implications.
  • Collaborate with fellow attorneys and legal professionals within the firm to deliver comprehensive legal services to clients.

Qualifications:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law institution.
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in labor and employment law, ideally within a law firm or corporate legal environment.
  • Strong understanding of federal, state, and local labor and employment laws and regulations.
  • Exceptional analytical, research, and writing capabilities.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to cultivate and maintain client relationships.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and operate under tight deadlines.
  • High ethical standards and professional integrity.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in representing clients in employment-related litigation.
  • Strong negotiation and conflict resolution skills.
  • Experience in conducting internal investigations.
  • Familiarity with employment-related compliance training initiatives.
