Job Title: School Based Behavior Technician

Behavior Change Institute, LLC is seeking a highly motivated and compassionate School Based Behavior Technician to join our clinical team. As a School Based Behavior Technician, you will work one-on-one with children and adolescents with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) to implement behavioral strategies and improve socially significant behaviors.

Responsibilities:
  • Implement behavioral strategies and interventions to improve communication, challenging behavior, daily living, safety, and social skills.
  • Collect and record data on client progress and behavior.
  • Write daily session notes and update supervisors on client progress.
  • Communicate with caregivers and circle of support to ensure consistency and coordination of care.
  • Maintain professional boundaries and confidentiality with clients and their families.
Requirements:
  • Authorization to work in the United States.
  • 18+ years of age.
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Pre-employment professional reference and criminal background check clearance.
  • Reliable transportation.
  • Complete CPR or BLS certification within 30 days of employment.
  • Ability to obtain RBT credential through BACB within required timeframe.
  • Minimum of 1 year's experience working with children, adolescents, and/or adults with special needs (preferred, but not required).
Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to run, walk, sit, stand (general mobility).
  • Use hands, reach with arms and lift or move up to 50lbs as needed.
  • Vision requirement for close, distance and peripheral vision and ability to adjust focus.
  • Vocalizations required for verbal behavior training.
  • Full auditory functioning required.
  • Employee may be required to intervene in physically demanding behavioral interventions with physically aggressive clients.
Mandatory Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) Training Information:

Candidates selected for employment must complete a pre-employment training program (6 weeks) to help them obtain their RBT credential needed to work in this position, unless candidates already have their RBT credential.

The pre-employment training is comprised of:

  • 40 Hour online BACB approved coursework for the RBT credential (4 weeks).
  • 10 Hour attendance of virtual online Skills Clinics (2 weeks).

After hire, you will begin working with a client while you complete your formal skills competency checklist and take your RBT Exam provided at Pearson Professional Testing Center near you.
