Job Summary

TransportUS is seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Medical Transport Dispatcher to join our team. As a Medical Transport Dispatcher, you will be responsible for answering phone calls, assigning transportation trips, and maintaining records of all incidents that occur at the workplace.

Key Responsibilities
  • Facilitate coverage for all NEMT transportation trips listed on our daily manifest.
  • Monitor and review video surveillance equipment.
  • Enforce policies and procedures.
  • Respond to emails, hospital discharges, add-ons, and new trips.
  • Maintain records of all incidents that occur at the workplace.
  • Communicate effectively with other dispatchers, coordinators, and drivers.
  • Monitor public traffic and ensure FWY/HWY access for drivers.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • At least one year of dispatch experience.
  • At least one year of customer service experience.
  • Valid California Driver's License with no major incidents within the last five years.
  • At least two years of experience working with Microsoft Outlook.
Preferred Qualifications
  • At least one year of experience in the transportation and NEMT industry.
  • At least two years of dispatch experience.
  • At least two years of customer service experience.
  • Valid California Driver's License with a completely clean driving record.
  • At least two years of experience working with Microsoft Office.
Additional Skills and Abilities
  • Must be able to fluently communicate in English (read, write, and speak).
  • Must have excellent customer service skills.
  • Must be familiar with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook).
  • Must use two-way communications and monitor multiple video screens.
  • Must manage and direct multiple vehicles while on route.

  • Must be able to identify and assess information on computer screens, written reports, and documentation and relay to team and/or clients.
  • Must be able to sit for prolonged periods of time.
  • May require bending and reaching in areas from floor level to six feet high.
  • Requires the ability to distinguish letters or symbols and eye/hand coordination.
  • Work may be performed in a busy high-traffic environment behind the main desk of a hospital where the noise level may be high.
Additional Requirements
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Candidates must be able to reliably commute or plan to relocate to Long Beach, 90822 before starting work.
  • Candidates must be willing to work eight-hour shifts although overtime is possible.
  • Candidates must have open availability (including weekends) and be able to work the day, night, and overnight shifts.
