Magnet Medical is seeking a skilled Diagnostic Medical Sonographer Specialist to join our team.

About the Role

We are looking for a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual to work as an Ultrasound Technologist in Richland, Washington. As a key member of our medical team, you will be responsible for performing high-quality ultrasound procedures using advanced equipment.

This exciting opportunity allows you to utilize your technical skills and attention to detail to create accurate images of patients' internal structures. Your findings will be used by physicians to diagnose various medical conditions, including pregnancy-related issues, abdominal problems, vascular issues, and more.

You will work closely with our healthcare professionals to ensure that patients receive the best possible care. Your excellent communication skills and ability to make patients feel comfortable during procedures will be essential in this role.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Pre-Procedure Preparation: Review patient medical history, physician orders, and ensure correct ultrasound procedure is performed.
  • Preparing Equipment: Ensure ultrasound equipment is functioning properly and adjusted for the procedure.
  • Patient Education: Explain the ultrasound procedure to the patient, addressing questions and concerns to reduce anxiety.
Conducting Ultrasound Scans:
  • Position patients on the examination table to capture clear images.
  • Apply conductive gel to facilitate sound wave transmission.
  • Operate ultrasound equipment, adjusting settings for optimal image quality.
  • Use hand-held transducer to capture images or videos of target areas.
Patient Safety and Comfort:
  • Ensure patient comfort and safety during the procedure.
  • Monitor patients for signs of discomfort or distress.
  • Address patient concerns and adjust positioning or equipment settings as needed.
Image Analysis and Reporting:
  • Capture high-quality images meeting medical evaluation criteria.
  • Analyze images for clarity and completeness before submitting to physicians or radiologists.
  • Provide preliminary findings based on ultrasound images.
Post-Procedure Care:
  • Assist patients after the procedure, ensuring they are stable and comfortable.
  • Remove gel from the patient's skin and offer tissues or towels for cleaning.
Equipment Maintenance and Troubleshooting:
  • Regularly inspect and maintain ultrasound equipment.
  • Perform basic troubleshooting for equipment malfunctions.
Documentation and Record-Keeping:
  • Maintain accurate records of procedures performed.
  • Ensure documentation complies with hospital policies, regulatory standards, and patient confidentiality guidelines.
Collaboration with Medical Team:
  • Work closely with physicians, radiologists, and other healthcare professionals.
  • Communicate effectively to discuss image quality or potential findings requiring further investigation.
Professional Development and Training:
  • Participate in continuing education opportunities.
  • Obtain and maintain certifications and licensure required for ultrasound technology.

The estimated salary for this position is approximately $$96,000 - $120,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications. This figure is based on national averages for similar positions in the United States. Please note that Magnet Medical offers a tax-free stipend, which will be discussed during the hiring process.
