The Custodian II is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and organization of school facilities, ensuring a safe and healthy environment for students, teachers, and staff. This role involves performing a variety of tasks, including cleaning, maintenance, and repairs, to ensure the overall appearance and functionality of the school buildings and grounds.
Key Responsibilities:
- Cleaning and Maintenance: Sweep, dust, and clean the interior and exterior of buildings, including floors, walls, windows, and doors.
- Grounds Maintenance: Maintain the school grounds, including lawns, shrubbery, trees, paved surfaces, playground equipment, storm drains, and sewage disposal systems.
- Heating and Ventilation: Operate and maintain small heating plants, ensuring adequate heat and ventilation in school buildings.
- Safety and Security: Identify and report potential safety hazards, prevent accidents, and protect school property from damage or deterioration.
- Supplies and Equipment: Order and maintain custodial supplies, and ensure that equipment is in good working order.
- Communication: Communicate effectively with school administrators, teachers, and staff to ensure that custodial services meet the needs of the school community.
Requirements:
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent required.
