Job Summary:

Serves as a liaison for digital imaging initiatives within the imaging department, ensuring seamless operations and maintenance of the Picture Archival and Communications System (PACS). Collaborates with modality vendors to resolve merge and integration issues, and provides local support to the department in application installation, maintenance, and problem-solving. Develops policies and procedures for the operation, maintenance, and security of the PACS, and generates reports for the manager and Performance Improvement Committee. Provides training to physicians, nursing, and technical personnel on the operation and usage of the PACS. Maintains authorized users lists and monitors security of the web-based PACS.

Key Responsibilities:

• Works closely with modality vendors to identify and resolve merge and integration issues
• Provides local support to the department in application installation, maintenance, and problem-solving
• Develops policies and procedures for the operation, maintenance, and security of the PACS
• Generates reports for the manager and Performance Improvement Committee
• Provides training to physicians, nursing, and technical personnel on the operation and usage of the PACS
• Maintains authorized users lists and monitors security of the web-based PACS

Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or GED
• 6 months experience supporting a clinical service (e.g. imaging, pharmacy, lab, etc...)
• Five years' experience supporting technology, including but not limited to desktop, network, hardware, and applications
• OR
• Associates degree in Information Technology, Healthcare Administration or related field

Preferred Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Healthcare Administration or related field
• Two years of supervisory or project management experience
• Graduation from an AMA-approved school of radiology technology
