Position: Risk & Controls Specialist, Technology Risk Assurance

Location: Sandy Springs, GA

The Risk & Controls Specialist is an integral part of GreenSky's Technology Risk Assurance (TRA) team, overseeing daily operations within the comprehensive framework of GreenSky's Technology Governance, Risk, Compliance, and Privacy Assurance initiatives. This role collaborates closely with various departments, including Operations, Information Technology, Security, HR, and other business units, to establish effective processes that adequately identify and mitigate risks.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct assessments of control effectiveness across organizational applications, infrastructure, and technologies.
  • Facilitate the quarterly systems access review program in collaboration with relevant stakeholders.
  • Identify, classify, and document control issues within the managed GreenSky computing environment.
  • Assist in executing controls testing and documenting outcomes, while recommending corrective actions as necessary.
  • Track remediation efforts and evaluate associated policies and control standard exceptions.
  • Regularly report findings to TRA management.
  • Support internal and external audits of GreenSky's computing environments.

Additional Duties:

  • Contribute to the completion of Information and Information Systems Control Testing, adhering to GreenSky TRA Department methodology and industry standards to ensure effective controls are established for operational and compliance requirements.
  • Communicate testing results effectively to TRA management for necessary corrective actions.
  • Assist in evidence collection and project management for annual Compliance program audits (SOC 1, SOC 2, PCI DSS, etc.).
  • Facilitate ongoing corporate logical access reviews and recommend updates to access control privileges to maintain proper Segregation of Duties.
  • Perform Information Technology General Control (ITGC) testing to ensure SOX readiness.
  • Exhibit strong teamwork and responsibility in engaging with team members.
  • Enhance the team knowledge base by participating in relevant training and sharing industry best practices.
  • Undertake other duties as assigned.

Organizational Structure: This position is part of the Technology Risk Assurance (TRA) team and reports to the Manager, TRA. The team operates under the Corporate Risk Department to maintain independence in its daily functions.

Required Skills/Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or information technology, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Familiarity with management information systems terminology, concepts, and practices.
  • Understanding of risk management, control, and control frameworks.
  • Knowledge of Financial Services business processes and regulatory requirements.
  • Ability to collect and analyze complex data, evaluate information and systems, and draw logical conclusions.
  • Capacity to thrive in a fast-paced, complex environment and adapt to change.
  • Effective communication skills along with developing negotiation abilities.

Preferred Skills:

  • 2 to 3 years of relevant experience in Enterprise Cloud Computing Information Systems.
  • Experience with Information Technology General Control (ITGC) audits.
  • Familiarity with SOC 1, Type 2; SOC 2, Type 2; and PCI DSS audits.
