Job Title: Lumber Grader/Kiln Operator

Job Summary:

The Lumber Grader/Kiln Operator is responsible for inspecting lumber according to prescribed standards and operating the kiln to ensure high-quality wood products.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Inspect lumber for defects and ensure compliance with company standards
  • Operate the kiln to dry and process lumber
  • Monitor production levels and report to the yard manager
  • Collaborate with quality control and operations teams to improve lumber quality
  • Maintain a safe and organized work environment
Requirements:
  • Grading experience preferred, but on-the-job training is available
  • Completion of in-house grading training
  • Understanding of SPIB & NHLA grading rules or equivalent
  • Ability to lift up to 50lbs and work in a fast-paced environment
