Position Summary:

As a Lead Financial Reporting Accountant at Cartwright Search Group, you will play a pivotal role in the financial reporting team, ensuring the delivery of precise and timely financial statements for a diverse range of clients, including hedge funds, private equity firms, digital asset managers, fund of funds, and venture capital entities. Your collaboration with clients, auditors, fund administrators, and internal teams will be essential in meeting both client-specific and regulatory reporting obligations.

Core Responsibilities:

1. Prepare comprehensive financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, cash flow statements, and schedules of investments, adhering to industry standards and regulations.

2. Develop supporting financial statement worksheets to facilitate the audit process.

3. Oversee and coordinate the year-end financial statement audit, acting as a liaison between external auditors, fund administrators, and client representatives.

4. Conduct thorough analyses of financial data to uncover trends, discrepancies, and opportunities for enhancement, providing actionable insights to clients.

5. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to collect necessary financial information, ensuring compliance with both client-specific and regulatory reporting timelines.

6. Remain informed about industry regulations and accounting standards, implementing necessary changes to uphold compliance.

7. Contribute to the development and refinement of financial reporting processes and templates.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in preparing financial statements for investment partnerships, particularly within hedge funds, private equity, or venture capital.
  • Experience in fund auditing or administration is essential.
  • Strong understanding of investment partnership accounting principles, financial reporting standards, and regulatory compliance.
  • Proficiency in financial software and accounting systems, including Excel and QuickBooks.
  • Exceptional analytical abilities with a strong attention to detail.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills for successful collaboration with team members, auditors, and administrators.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and work efficiently in a dynamic, deadline-oriented environment.
  • High level of integrity and professionalism in handling confidential and sensitive information.
