The Lead Mechanical Engineering Project Specialist is responsible for overseeing the execution of all capital projects at the facility. This includes the stages of Visualization, Conceptualization, and Basic Engineering, as well as ensuring the successful completion of detailed engineering tasks. The role emphasizes maintaining the quality, integrity, safety, and regulatory compliance throughout the Manufacturing Capital Management Process (MCMP).
Key Qualifications and Requirements
- Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited institution is mandatory.
- Eligibility for membership with the Louisiana Professional Engineering & Land Surveying Board (LAPELS); capability to obtain Professional Engineer (P.E.) registration if necessary.
- A minimum of 4 years of experience as a Project Engineer or Project Manager is essential.
- Familiarity with PMI standards for Project Management and an understanding of stage/gate processes for project management.
- Comprehensive knowledge of mechanical and piping engineering design within a petrochemical context.
- Preferred experience in the petrochemical industry.
- Proficient in using CAESAR II software.
- Strong skills in AutoCAD and Navisworks.
