Job Title: Agri Instructor

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Agri Instructor to join our team at the West Central Arkansas Workforce Development Area. As an Agri Instructor, you will be responsible for teaching high school students and adults in vocational education programs, developing and revising curriculum, maintaining classroom records, and preparing presentations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Instruct students in classroom and individualized, online, and laboratory settings, develop and arrange field trips and guest lectures.
  • Evaluate student performance by grading classroom work and observing laboratory skills.
  • Maintain classroom records, including attendance records, progress reports, and complete follow-ups.
  • Develop or revise the vocational education curriculum by researching educational and professional material, developing course outlines and objectives, and preparing lesson plans.
  • Instruct students in the importance of accuracy, neatness, efficiency, resourcefulness, good work habits, and in obtaining and maintaining employment.
  • Keep abreast of job vacancies and employment trends and participate in student recruitment.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with the business community to ensure job training goals, objectives, and curriculum align with current business standards and practices.
  • Develop partnerships with employers for student internships and paid apprenticeship opportunities.
  • Instruct students in subject areas, maintenance, and the safe operation of tools and equipment, codes or regulations related to the subject being taught.
  • Attend various job fairs, workshops, and conferences.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
  • Two years of experience in the vocational area taught.
  • Teacher certification 010, 218.
  • Ability to teach welding is required.
  • Ability to teach Animal Systems is also desired.
