Position Overview

Covelo Group is in search of a dedicated Speech-Language Pathologist to enhance our Educational Services division. This role is ideal for professionals eager to make a significant impact on students' lives within an academic environment.

Role Summary

As a Speech-Language Pathologist in a school setting, you will provide essential services to students requiring speech intervention, adhering to the guidelines outlined in their Individualized Education Plans (IEPs). Collaboration with parents, educators, and school administrators will be crucial in developing effective IEPs for students across various educational institutions.

Your caseload will encompass students from kindergarten through 12th grade, depending on district assignments. You may need to travel between multiple campuses to conduct speech evaluations and deliver necessary speech services. Your responsibilities will include performing comprehensive assessments of students' speech and communication skills, along with offering tailored recommendations for speech therapy interventions aimed at enhancing their communication capabilities and academic success.

In response to the unique needs of each student, you will deliver customized pull-out speech therapy sessions designed to help them overcome speech challenges, thereby fostering their success in the classroom and aiding in the development of vital communication skills. Therapeutic interventions may involve activities focused on improving oral motor skills, speech fluency, articulation, cognitive abilities, listening comprehension, and oral reading proficiency. Services can be provided individually or in small group settings.

We seek a flexible SLP who is eager to collaborate with a diverse range of students, educators, therapists, and administrative staff. The ideal candidate will demonstrate compassion, resilience under pressure, and the ability to address the specialized speech therapy needs of students.

Qualifications

Education
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution
  • Master's degree from an accredited speech-language pathology program
Experience
  • Previous experience as an SLP in a school environment is preferred but not mandatory
Licensure and Certifications
  • Current licensure in speech-language pathology within the state of practice
  • Certification of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP)
  • BLS certification
