Job Summary

We are seeking a Registered Nurse to join our team at Presbyterian Healthcare Services. As a Registered Nurse, you will be responsible for providing direct patient care to an assigned group of patients during a shift. You will prioritize the delivery of direct nursing care using time and resources efficiently, integrating a standards-based framework model.

Responsibilities
  • Assess, plan, implement, evaluate, and document individual patient needs, actions taken, and patient responses.
  • Coordinate patient care through collaboration with the patient/family and healthcare team.
  • Perform assessments as per unit standards and document on appropriate data base/assessment flow sheet.
  • Initiate, utilize, and document appropriate protocols and standards of care.
  • Administer medication and treatments as prescribed by physician, or standard protocols, and document according to policy.
  • Identify and meet patient and family learning and discharge needs on admission and throughout episode of care.
  • Evaluate patient progression toward outcomes per unit standards and document through EOSS, etc.
  • Perform competently in emergency situations.
  • Delegate or assign aspects of patient care to healthcare team members commensurate with their validated competency to perform the task.
  • Assume responsibility for the clinical supervision of LPNs and non-licensed assistive personnel.
  • Provide leadership through communication about and validation of patient care.
  • Assist with various procedures, treatments, surgical techniques, or assign to other healthcare team members as appropriate.
  • Complete patient population/age-specific/procedure and protocol education and competency testing per unit standards.
  • Demonstrate competency in required psychomotor skills.
  • Assist in orientation of new staff or students and serve as a resource person and professional role model.
  • Assume other leadership roles (i.e., relief charge nurse) as required by the department.
Requirements
  • Degree from accredited academic nursing program (if a program is under conditional status, approval may be granted by system CNO).
  • Minimum ADN preparation.
  • 1.5 yrs of relevant experience.
  • State of New Mexico or Compact State Nursing License or Graduate Nurse Permit required.
  • BLS required at time of hire.
  • ACLS, PALS within 90 days of hire.
  • NRP, TNCC, ATCN preferred.
