We are seeking a Registered Nurse to join our team at Presbyterian Healthcare Services. As a Registered Nurse, you will be responsible for providing direct patient care to an assigned group of patients during a shift. You will prioritize the delivery of direct nursing care using time and resources efficiently, integrating a standards-based framework model.
Responsibilities- Assess, plan, implement, evaluate, and document individual patient needs, actions taken, and patient responses.
- Coordinate patient care through collaboration with the patient/family and healthcare team.
- Perform assessments as per unit standards and document on appropriate data base/assessment flow sheet.
- Initiate, utilize, and document appropriate protocols and standards of care.
- Administer medication and treatments as prescribed by physician, or standard protocols, and document according to policy.
- Identify and meet patient and family learning and discharge needs on admission and throughout episode of care.
- Evaluate patient progression toward outcomes per unit standards and document through EOSS, etc.
- Perform competently in emergency situations.
- Delegate or assign aspects of patient care to healthcare team members commensurate with their validated competency to perform the task.
- Assume responsibility for the clinical supervision of LPNs and non-licensed assistive personnel.
- Provide leadership through communication about and validation of patient care.
- Assist with various procedures, treatments, surgical techniques, or assign to other healthcare team members as appropriate.
- Complete patient population/age-specific/procedure and protocol education and competency testing per unit standards.
- Demonstrate competency in required psychomotor skills.
- Assist in orientation of new staff or students and serve as a resource person and professional role model.
- Assume other leadership roles (i.e., relief charge nurse) as required by the department.
- Degree from accredited academic nursing program (if a program is under conditional status, approval may be granted by system CNO).
- Minimum ADN preparation.
- 1.5 yrs of relevant experience.
- State of New Mexico or Compact State Nursing License or Graduate Nurse Permit required.
- BLS required at time of hire.
- ACLS, PALS within 90 days of hire.
- NRP, TNCC, ATCN preferred.
