Maintenance Electrician Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Electrician to join our team at ABB. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for installing, troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining electrical systems, PLCs, DC drives, AC inverters, and electronic components of industrial machinery and equipment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Install electrical wiring and conduit for newly installed machines and equipment.
  • Diagnose and repair malfunctioning apparatus such as transformers, motors, lighting fixtures, etc.
  • Diagnose and repair faulty electronic components, such as printed circuit boards.
  • Diagnose and repair faulty mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic components of machines and equipment.
  • Plan layout of wiring and install wiring, conduit, and electrical apparatus in the building.
  • Ability to weld and fabricate.
  • Knowledge of boilers and chillers.
Requirements:
  • High school diploma or General Education Degree (GED).
  • A minimum of four to six years of mechanical experience and/or a state license, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to speak effectively before groups or employees of the organization.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • One year certificate from college or technical school and/or a state license.
  • Safety conscious, 5S driven, and recommends safety corrections immediately.
  • Produces excellent quality work.
  • Engaged to meet production goals regularly.
  • Participates in team initiatives yet self-motivated.
