As a Support Worker for Individuals with Intellectual Disabilities, you will be responsible for assisting clients with daily living tasks, promoting independence, and ensuring their overall well-being.
About the Role
You will be working directly with clients in various settings, including homes and facilities, providing assistance with daily tasks, such as bathing, dressing, and meal preparation. You will also engage clients in various activities, including walking, reading, games, math, and computer projects, to promote socialization and cognitive development. Your primary goal will be to provide exceptional support and advocacy to our clients, ensuring they live fulfilling and meaningful lives.
Responsibilities
* Assist clients with bathroom needs
* Change clients' undergarments and/or clothing if needed
* Prepare daily meals and assist with clean-up
* Pick-up/drop-off clients in company vans from/to their home/facility (if necessary)
Requirements
We are seeking an individual who possesses a High School Diploma or GED, CPR/First Aid certification, CPI certification, and DSP 1 certification. A minimum of 1 year of professional or personal experience supporting individuals with developmental disabilities or mental illnesses is preferred. Additionally, you must have a valid in-state driver's license, be over 21, provide current registration and insurance, and have a driving record with no more than 2 points within the last 3 years. Physical requirements include the ability to lift 50lbs and work both indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions.
