Position Overview
This role is situated within the Child and Youth Services (CYS) Child Development Center. It is a Regular Part-Time position requiring a minimum commitment of 20 hours per week, with eligibility for leave accrual and benefits.

Key Responsibilities
- Utilize culinary expertise to assist in the development and execution of a comprehensive food service program that adheres to the guidelines of the USDA Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP).
- Perform a range of food preparation and cooking duties, including but not limited to cleaning, paring, peeling, slicing, dicing, grilling, frying, baking, broiling, pouring liquids, and mixing ingredients.
- Prepare and cook a variety of complex and time-intensive dishes such as meats, poultry, seafood, vegetables, stews, casseroles, gravies, sauces, and baked goods, following established recipes.
- Collaborate with Food and Nutrition Specialists to create menus and manage food orders and purchasing requests.
- Provide on-the-job training to other kitchen staff and serve as a consultant for youth cooking clubs and health and fitness programs, while adhering to risk management protocols.

Qualifications
- A minimum of 6 months of relevant work experience in a professional kitchen environment, demonstrating proficiency with kitchen appliances and equipment.
- Ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.
- Capability to lift and carry weights of up to 40 lbs on a regular basis.
