We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Veterinarian Associate to join our team at East Bay SPCA. As a key member of our veterinary clinic, you will play a vital part in providing exceptional care to our clients and their animals.
Key Responsibilities- Provide high-quality veterinary care, including surgical procedures, to client-owned and shelter animals.
- Work collaboratively with our veterinary team to develop and implement goals, policies, and procedures related to our veterinary clinics and shelters.
- Establish and maintain accurate medical records and drug use logs, ensuring compliance with veterinary standards.
- Consult with clients and veterinarians regularly, providing expert advice and guidance.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of animal health protocols, surgical procedures, and companion animal health issues.
- Build effective relationships with clients, staff, and volunteers through positive interaction and communication.
- Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree and a valid California Veterinary License.
- Ability to obtain a DEA license within 60 days of hire.
- Fear Free Certification within 90 days of hire.
- Valid California Driver's License and insurable driving record for occasional patient transport.
- Minimum of two years' experience in a full-time clinical setting.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with clients and staff, both verbally and in writing.
- Computer literacy in a Windows environment, with proficiency in Microsoft Office Applications.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively with other managers and technicians to accomplish daily tasks and meet strategic goals.
Our veterinary clinic is a fast-paced, high-volume environment that requires a strong work ethic and attention to detail. You will be working in an animal shelter environment with exposure to seasonal outdoor conditions, noise, and animal waste.
