Job Overview

Dansources Technical Services is seeking a highly skilled Field Service Engineer I to join our team. As a key member of our technical support team, you will be responsible for installing and commissioning complex industrial equipment and systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Install and commission Mid-Energy Portals (MEP), Low Energy Portals (LEP), IP6500 Vehicle and Cargo Inspection Systems (VACIS), and Exploranium, Radiation Portal Monitor (RPM) systems.
  • Isolate equipment start-up malfunctions and take corrective actions.
  • Perform technical support on products such as equipment, integrated systems, and subsystems at customer and/or factory locations.
  • Work on equipment with little or no documentation or training.
  • Meet weekly project installation goals within required deadlines.
  • Support Engineering activities during Factory Acceptance testing.
  • Maintain tools and test equipment properly.
  • Work with team members to achieve success during installations.
  • Maintain clear and concise business communication proficiency.
  • Travel, overtime, and work hours other than Monday-Friday may be required.
  • Troubleshoot and diagnose malfunctions to eliminate problems in minimum time.
  • Perform ad-hoc and predetermined work assignments with instructions.
  • Maintain effective customer communications and relations.
  • Ability to multi-task, work accurately, and with attention to detail in a Field Service environment.
  • Ability to interpret wiring diagrams, schematics, system manuals, and technical directives for troubleshooting purposes.
  • Must be able to obtain a US Passport for OCONUS travel.
  • Will to work on challenging international projects for short durations.
  • Work well with peers from various backgrounds to build effective work relationships.
  • Ability to work outdoors and in all types of weather conditions.
Requirements
  • 75% Travel required.
  • Preferred Qualifications:
    • Computer literacy; competency in use of all programs within MS Office Suite and aptitude for learning specialized software programs.
    • Working knowledge of x-ray and/or CT technologies.
    • Network installation and configuration is a plus.
    • PLC experience is a plus.
    • Previous field electrical assembly experience.
    • Certified forklift and aerial lift operator.
    • Experience with rigging and material handling.
    • Basic understanding of OSHA standards and practices.
    • Software integration with electric/mechanical equipment.
    • Previous hands-on project management is a plus.
    • Bilingual language skills (Spanish) a plus.
  • Prior Military background a plus.
Work Schedule

The role will follow a 5x40 schedule on 1st shift, requiring travel to different locations, and the position has the potential to be made full-time with the client.
