Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Respiratory Therapist to join our team at Duke University Hospital. As a Respiratory Therapist, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the success of our healthcare team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Administer oxygen, aerosolized medication, and other respiratory therapies as prescribed by physicians.
  • Perform diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, including pulmonary function studies and cardiopulmonary procedures.
  • Monitor patient vital signs and respond to emergencies as needed.
  • Collaborate with healthcare teams to develop and implement patient care plans.
  • Provide education and support to patients and families on respiratory health and disease management.
Requirements
  • Completion of an AMA-approved respiratory care program (Associates Degree or equivalent).
  • North Carolina State Licensure or Provisional License.
  • Certification by the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC).
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification (if applicable).
