Medical Coding Auditor

Key Responsibilities:

Audit and analyze medical data from electronic medical records (EMRs) for billing purposes, utilizing knowledge of CPT and ICD-10 codes. Identify and research coding discrepancies, and compile and prioritize audits based on dates of service. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of data requirements from government and private insurance carriers. Ensure confidentiality of patient records and develop strong working relationships with colleagues. Participate in training activities and staff meetings to expand skills and knowledge.

Requirements:

High school diploma or equivalent required
1 year minimum experience in medical office/physician coding and medical chart review/auditing
Knowledge of Athena EMR system preferred
Familiarity with Microsoft Excel and Word
Bilingual preferred
1-2 years experience as an AR follow-up/Billing specialist
