Position Overview

We are seeking a dedicated Armenian & Russian Language Facilitator (Cultural and Linguistic Services Specialist II) to provide interpreting services with cultural sensitivity. This role is essential in bridging communication gaps and ensuring the accurate exchange of medical information between patients and healthcare providers at CHLA. Responsibilities include:

  • Delivering interpreting services that respect cultural nuances.
  • Providing written translations for patient interactions, including medical instructions and hospital-related correspondence.
  • Collaborating with healthcare team members to enhance patient care.
  • Adhering to all relevant policies regarding patient confidentiality and informed consent.
  • Assisting in the training and orientation of new interpreters within the department.

Qualifications

To be considered for this role, candidates should possess:

  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in interpreting and translating within a healthcare environment, with a focus on diverse cultural and socio-economic backgrounds.
  • Proficiency in both written and verbal communication in English, Armenian, and Russian.
  • The ability to accurately translate and interpret medical terminology.
  • Experience working with patients across various developmental and educational levels.

Educational Requirements

A Bachelor's degree or equivalent in a relevant field is preferred. Candidates should have completed at least 40 hours of Healthcare Interpreter training. For spoken language interpreters, national certification through CCHI or a recognized organization is required.
