We are seeking a highly skilled Precision Assembly Technician to join our team at ICONMA. As a key member of our assembly team, you will be responsible for the precise assembly of complex mechanical components, including structural, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
Key Responsibilities- Assembly and Testing: Assemble and test a variety of mechanical components, including structural, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems, to ensure precise fit and function.
- Quality Control: Conduct quality control checks to ensure that all assembled components meet the required standards and specifications.
- Collaboration with Engineers: Work closely with engineers to review design concepts, provide feedback on assembly feasibility, and support development testing.
- Documentation and Record-Keeping: Maintain accurate records of assembly processes, procedures, and results, and document any issues or concerns.
- Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement changes to increase efficiency and productivity.
- Education and Experience: 3-5+ years of experience in precision assembly, with a strong background in mechanical assembly and testing.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in standard mechanical tools and basic fabrication equipment, with experience in drilling and preparing close tolerance holes for structural assembly and fastener installation.
- Communication and Teamwork: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment and maintain positive relationships with colleagues.
- Physical Demands: Ability to climb ladders and stairs, work in small, restricted areas, and lift and carry 25 pounds.
- Aerospace Experience: 5+ years of experience in aerospace or related fields, with a strong background in launch vehicle or propulsion system assembly and integration.
- Specialized Skills: Experience with 3D measurement tools and Spatial analyzer/Verisurf software, familiarity with pressurized system safety for pneumatic and hydraulic systems, and knowledge of rocket propellants.
- Education and Certifications: A&P license or equivalent experience in launch vehicle or propulsion system assembly and integration, and knowledge of 3D CAD tools (CREO is preferred) and GD&T per ASME Y14.5M-1994 standard.
