Psychiatric Practitioner

We are seeking a highly skilled Psychiatric Practitioner to provide locum tenens coverage in our inpatient psychiatric unit. The ideal candidate will have experience working with adult and geriatric populations, with a strong focus on crisis management and forensic experience.
Responsibilities- Provide patient care, including examination, evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment of medical illnesses for adult and geriatric psychiatric inpatients.
- Collaborate with attending psychiatric practitioners to provide comprehensive care.
- Complete admission medical assessments, including history and physical examinations, mental status examinations, and entering admission orders.
- Order diagnostic and therapeutic tests and procedures, and monitor patients' progress.
- Consult with authorized representatives and legal guardians on patient medical status.
- Prescribe medications at the lowest effective dose, and assess and address medication side effects.
- Ensure timely and quality documentation in patient records.
- 3+ years of experience as a Physician/Practitioner.
- Strong experience working with adult and geriatric populations, with a focus on crisis management and forensic experience.
- Ability to work independently and within a multidisciplinary treatment team.
- BLS Healthcare Provider certification.
