Job Summary

This is an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Gas Distribution Engineer, where you will be responsible for independently evaluating, selecting and applying standard engineering techniques, procedures and criteria. You will use your judgement in applying or recommending adaptions and modifications, and work with experienced professionals to recommend and implement timely solutions involving routine engineering, design, operation, maintenance of company assets and market optimization.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform engineering assignments, proposing solutions to engineering related problems.
  • Work with experienced professionals to recommend and implement timely solutions involving routine engineering, design, operation, maintenance of company assets and market optimization.
  • Collaborate with more experienced engineers to provide follow-up and engineering assistance on defined problems within time and budget constraints.
  • Develop models and analyze data in order to recommend solutions and/or improvements in processes and programs; develop and present presentations to all levels of management and/or external parties.
  • May provide field engineering assistance or technical support.
  • Keep up to date on current technology and market/technology trends.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or Engineering Technology and a minimum of 0 - 2 years of job relevant experience.
  • Individuals who will be obtaining their degree within nine months from submitting interest will be considered; however, verification of the degree will be required prior to starting in the job.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's Degree in Engineering or job relevant discipline.
  • Natural Gas Customer Meter and Regulator station design experience.
  • Experience in Synergi Gas hydraulic modeling software.
  • Knowledge of DTE Gas's natural gas distribution system.
  • Part 192 Gas Distribution Experience.
  • This position is open to Detroit and Grand Rapids locations.
