SUMMARY:

This role entails taking ownership of and providing support for site automation and data collection systems related to manufacturing operations. Collaborating with various departments such as operations, engineering, IT, and maintenance is essential for effectively managing these systems. The position also involves offering technical guidance and mentorship to the automation team.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Oversee and manage 24/7 support for site automation and data collection systems.
  • Lead the commissioning and qualification processes for automation systems, ensuring adherence to local quality standards.
  • Develop, maintain, and execute the automation functional agenda for the site.
  • Align the function with engineering objectives and collaborate with Quality, Engineering, and Operations leadership to achieve operational goals.
  • Act as the system owner for specific automation systems not assigned to other teams.
  • Allocate resources for the custodianship of site automation and data collection systems.
  • Establish and manage site procedures and technical standards for automation.
  • Direct continuous improvement initiatives and recapitalization efforts for managed systems.
  • Lead investigations into nonconformances related to owned systems.
  • Provide management support for automation contractors.

QUALIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering: preferably in Electrical, Chemical, Mechanical, Computer Science, or a related field, or extensive experience in similar roles.
  • A minimum of 10 years of experience in manufacturing, focusing on automation, process management, project delivery, or related areas.
  • Familiarity with safety requirements for automated manufacturing systems.
LANGUAGE SKILLS:
  • Basic proficiency in English.
CERTIFICATIONS and SKILLS:
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Experience in programming automation systems, including common PLC and SCADA platforms.
