Job Title: Agricultural Field Enumerator

Agricultural Field Enumerators are responsible for collecting accurate and reliable data from farmers in Niagara County, New York. This data is used to create statistical reports for the National Association of State Departments of Agriculture (NASDA).

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct in-person and phone interviews with farm operators to gather data on crop and livestock production.
  • Use USDA-supplied iPads to record and submit detailed and legible records of the interviews.
  • Submit accurate digital timesheets and maintain accurate records of data collection.
  • Communicate effectively with supervisors and other team members to ensure timely completion of tasks.

Requirements:

  • Good oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to read and understand aerial photo/satellite views.
  • Knowledge of computers and iPads.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Valid driver's license and clean driving record.

Working Conditions:

Agricultural Field Enumerators will work primarily outdoors, collecting data from farmers in the field. Occasional overnight training may be required. The starting salary is $16.31 per hour, plus 65.5 cents per mile.

Qualifications:

  • Experience working in a deadline-oriented environment.
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Knowledge of agricultural practices and terminology.
