Key Responsibilities:

  • Pre-Shift Meetings: Participate in pre-shift meetings with management and housemen to determine responsibilities for the current day/shift.
  • Event Setup: Determine proper set up, timeline, specific guest needs, buffets, action stations, etc.
  • Room Setup: Ensure each room set-up is accurate and meets the clients' specifications.
  • Banquet Event Orders: Read and interpret Banquet Event Orders to ensure proper room set up.
  • Breakdown and Cleaning: Complete final breakdown of function by cleaning, maintaining the banquet rooms, and other cleaning duties as assigned.
  • Support Functions: Often asked to transport food, assist the dishwasher, and plate for banquet events.
  • Storage and Maintenance: Responsible for the upkeep, maintenance, and general appearance of all storage space, furniture, and equipment.
  • Guest Interaction: Anticipate and respond to guests in a friendly, positive, and timely manner.
  • Interdepartmental Collaboration: Actively contribute to the efforts of other departments when necessary.

Requirements:

  • Communication Skills: Must have the ability to read and communicate in English.
  • Experience: Prefer one or more years of previous experience in a house person or banquet house person role.
  • Customer Service: Must have demonstrated exemplary customer service, attention to detail, and ability to perform job duties in a repetitious and fast-paced environment.

Physical Demands and Work Environment:

  • Physical Activity: Frequent pushing, pulling, bending, twisting, and lifting.
  • Work Environment: Able to stand and walk for long periods of time. Work environment may include smoke and variable temperature, lighting, and noise levels.
