About the Job:
We are seeking a highly skilled Research Professional IV to join our team at the University of Georgia. As a Research Professional IV, you will provide statistical and technical assistance to the National Park Service's Inventory and Monitoring Division, with a focus on analyzing monitoring data for a variety of resources, primarily forest vegetation.
Key Responsibilities:
* Develop methods and tools for quality-control review, analysis, and visualization of data.
* Review monitoring protocols (such as power analyses and evaluating data variability and recommending changes to reduce variability).
* Prepare and provide statistical-support reports.
* Present research results to partners and at scientific conferences.
* Publish in peer-reviewed literature.
* Assist with development of research proposals.
* Interact with scientists at the National Park Service and the Georgia Cooperative Research Unit and our partners.
Requirements:
* Requires at least a baccalaureate degree in the field.
* Proficiency with R.
* Experience with managing data and developing data visualizations.
* Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
* Written and oral communication skills corresponding to quantitative analyses.
* Prior experience analyzing multi-year monitoring data on forest vegetation.
* Record of scholarship using data collected from natural habitats and wild populations, especially forest vegetation.
Working Conditions:
* Sit or stand at a computer for extended periods of time in an office setting.
* Incumbent may make infrequent observational field visits that may involve some walking, standing, bending, and exposure to inclement weather conditions.
* Driving as needed to perform job duties.

* The position is full-time.
