Schedule: Full-time - 36 hours/week or greater

Shift: First Shift (Less than 12 hours per shift)

Weekly Work Schedule: Four ten-hour shifts with on-call responsibilities, during training five eight-hour shifts with buddy call

Job Overview: The Cardiovascular Perfusion Department Assistant plays a crucial role in supporting various cardiovascular diagnostic, monitoring, and assistance procedures. The nature of this work can be demanding due to the critical circumstances involved. On-call coverage may be required up to 50% of the time.

Education Qualifications:

  • Completion of a recognized program in a medical or technical field (e.g., EMT, Operating Room Technician, Medical Assistant, Certified Nursing Assistant)

Experience Qualifications:

  • Prior experience in a cardiovascular or surgical setting is preferred

Responsibilities:

  • Independently perform various procedures and assist the Perfusionist during operations
  • Participate in on-call duties as assigned
  • Accurately complete charges for procedures and manage supply inventory
  • Order necessary materials and conduct preventative maintenance on equipment
  • Assist with routine cleaning and upkeep of the work environment

Requirements:

  • Adherence to all policies, standards, and mandatory training requirements
  • Ability to operate effectively in a high-pressure, urgent environment
  • Designated workspace suitable for patient interaction
  • Physical capability to meet the demands of the position

Working Conditions:

  • Exposure to various environmental factors including extreme temperatures, infectious agents, and chemical substances
  • Compliance with safety protocols, including the use of personal protective equipment
