Position Overview
We are seeking a skilled and collaborative Field Safety and Security Manager to oversee safety and security initiatives at a significant distribution center, which includes over 400 team members and a product inventory valued at more than $100 million.
Key Responsibilities
The Field Safety and Security Manager will:
- Lead the Safe and Secure Team, ensuring effective recruitment, onboarding, and training of new associates.
- Establish and maintain strong partnerships with the Facility Leadership Team to address all matters related to associate safety, site security, inventory management, crisis response, and business continuity.
- Collaborate daily with the Inventory Control Analyst and team to track vehicles assigned to the facility and in transit, ensuring any discrepancies are thoroughly investigated.
- Manage access control processes, working closely with the Safe and Secure Technician to ensure timely issuance of access badges.
- Conduct daily facility inspections in collaboration with business partners, documenting issues and implementing immediate solutions.
- Support the implementation of Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) protocols across various facilities.
- Monitor and report on key performance indicators to identify trends and mitigate risks.
- Engage with local law enforcement and emergency management agencies to represent Carvana in the community.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess:
- A bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution is preferred.
- A minimum of 5 years of leadership experience in safety and security, particularly in distribution or warehousing environments.
- At least 3 years of experience in supervising and managing teams.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Analytical skills with a focus on data-driven decision-making.
- Experience in implementing risk mitigation strategies to enhance organizational profitability.
- Proficiency in managing crisis situations and leading OSHA program implementations.
