Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Paramedic to join our team at Essentia Health. As a Paramedic, you will be responsible for providing emergency medical care and transportation to patients in need.

Key Responsibilities
  • Respond to emergency calls and provide medical support and care to patients in the pre-hospital environment.
  • Assess emergency medical calls to identify patient needs and requirements and determine the best course of treatment.
  • Provide advanced medical care and basic life support services to patients, using approved medical equipment, devices, and treatment modalities.
  • Communicate with receiving facilities to obtain medical direction and provide patient status and critical information.
  • May be requested to provide patient care in the hospital setting, performing tasks delegated by the RN based on the scope of the individual's training and capabilities.
Requirements
  • State licensure/certification as a Paramedic or a Registered Nurse authorized to operate as a Paramedic with Medical Director Approval in the appropriate state of practice.
  • NIMS 100, 200, 700 certification.
  • Over 75 years of experience, with medical permission.
  • CPR Certification.
  • ACLS Certification.
  • PALS Certification (or must obtain within 6 months of hire).
  • Must meet the driving requirements and criteria acceptable to Essentia Health's insurer.
  • Current (valid) US/State Driver's License.
  • State background check must provide clearance to work with vulnerable adults.
  • PHTLS or BTLS training, or will complete within 6 months of hire.
