VCA Animal Hospitals is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Veterinary Department Manager to join our team. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of our veterinary department, ensuring the highest level of patient care and customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage and mentor a team of veterinary technicians and assistants to ensure exceptional patient care and customer satisfaction.
  • Oversee hospital processes and business operations, including staffing, inventory management, and supply chain logistics.
  • Collaborate with the Hospital Director and Medical Leadership to develop and implement departmental goals and objectives.
  • Develop and implement training programs to ensure staff are equipped with the necessary skills and knowledge to provide high-quality patient care.
  • Monitor and analyze departmental performance metrics to identify areas for improvement and implement changes as needed.
  • Provide feedback and coaching to staff to ensure they are meeting departmental goals and objectives.
  • Develop and manage departmental budgets to ensure fiscal responsibility and sustainability.
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure seamless communication and coordination of patient care.
Requirements
  • Associate's degree in a related field (Bachelor's degree preferred).
  • Current CVT or ability to transfer license to New York.
  • 5 years related work experience in veterinary medicine, with 1-3 years supervisory/management experience.
  • Demonstrates a strong desire for process improvement and leadership development.
