About the Architecture ProgramThe Department of Architecture, Design & Urbanism at Drexel University seeks highly qualified adjunct faculty members to teach in various capacities in our Architecture Program. Our program is designed to provide students with a strong, broadly based curriculum in the arts, humanities, social sciences, and the applied sciences, coupled with professional courses taught by faculty who reflect the broad diversity of architectural practice today.
Job SummaryWe are seeking an adjunct faculty member to teach studio, lecture, seminar, and/or practicum courses in our Architecture Program. The successful candidate will have a minimum of a Bachelor's or advanced degree in architecture, landscape architecture, urban design, architectural engineering, or a related field, as well as professional experience in architecture, landscape architecture and/or urban planning and/or pertinent engineering disciplines.
Responsibilities- Teach required number of credit hours per quarter based on contract.
- Plan and provide instructional experiences that reflect an understanding of the philosophy, objectives, and curriculum of the program.
- Evaluate student achievement of curricular objectives/outcomes.
- Maintain communication with the program director and faculty course coordinator regarding any course or student issues.
- Minimum of a Bachelor's or advanced degree in architecture, landscape architecture, urban design, architectural engineering, or a related field.
- Professional experience in architecture, landscape architecture and/or urban planning and/or pertinent engineering disciplines.
- Teaching experience in architecture and/or urban planning.
- Demonstrated expertise in the field pertinent to the position.
- Effective written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
