Overview:


The Financial Planning Analyst & Underwriter plays a vital role within our client account team, collaborating closely with the Consultant and Producer to provide exceptional client service.

This position involves supporting a range of initiatives and advising clients on managing the financial components of their health and welfare benefits programs.


Key Responsibilities:
• Monitor and evaluate ongoing plan performance and associated client deliverables

• Lead and/or assist in financial modeling, budgeting, and renewal forecasts

• Possess comprehensive knowledge of financial tools and spreadsheets

• Aid in the calculation of premium equivalent rates for self-funded clients

• Support benchmarking and data analysis initiatives

• Conduct data analysis and due diligence for new business opportunities and client projects

• Facilitate essential processes and internal functions to provide client-facing services

• Utilize mathematical concepts in intricate and detailed scenarios

• Maintain organized filing systems

• Lead and/or assist in market assessments and negotiations for stop-loss contracts and renewals

• Foster and sustain positive relationships with internal teams as well as external clients, insurance providers, vendors, and retained experts

• Pursue continuous growth and enhancement of employee benefits and industry knowledge

• Lead and/or assist in calculations for regulatory fees (e.g., PCORI)

• Manage and execute additional projects as assigned

Qualifications:
• PA Life and Health License (preferred and must be kept current)

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience

• Demonstrated history of self-motivation, creativity, and ability to meet deadlines

• Strong critical thinking, problem-solving, and analytical abilities

• Proficient in MS Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook) with advanced Excel skills

• Excellent relationship-building capabilities

• Strong attention to detail and follow-through

• Superior analytical skills and judgment

• Exceptional written, verbal communication, and presentation skills

• Effective time management skills with strong organizational and prioritization capabilities

• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment

• May require travel to service clients

• Willingness to work extended hours during peak periods
