UMass Memorial Health is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Chief of Thoracic Anesthesia to lead our Thoracic Anesthesia team. As a key member of our Department of Anesthesiology and Perioperative Medicine, you will be responsible for overseeing the clinical operations of our Thoracic Anesthesia service, ensuring the highest level of patient care and safety.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead the Thoracic Anesthesia team in providing exceptional patient care and ensuring adherence to evidence-based standards.
  • Collaborate with the leadership of Thoracic Surgery and Interventional Pulmonology services to create an efficient surgical workflow.
  • Develop and implement evidence-based ERAS protocols for patients undergoing thoracic procedures.
  • Train and supervise residents and CRNAs to ensure the highest level of clinical expertise.
  • Support the professional and clinical advancement of faculty members.
  • Evaluate and maintain equipment and supplies needed for Thoracic anesthesia services.
  • Conduct research in advancement of Thoracic Anesthesia and educate the Anesthesiology Department on best practices.
What We Offer:
  • A competitive salary of $460,000-$510,000 and a generous sign-on bonus of $50,000.
  • Nine weeks paid time off and a comprehensive benefits package, including LTD, STD, CME, health, dental, vision insurance, and a 403(b) retirement plan.

Requirements:
  • MD, DO, or foreign equivalent, and qualify for a Massachusetts license.
  • Be Board Certified or Board Eligible in Anesthesiology.
