As a Pharmacy Technician at DMC Receiving Hospital, you will play a vital role in ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of medication preparation and delivery. Under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist, you will be responsible for preparing, packaging, and labeling IV and unit dose medications according to prescriber orders and established policies and procedures.
Key Responsibilities:- Prepare and package medications in a sterile environment, utilizing mathematical calculations to ensure accuracy.
- Deliver medications, emergency boxes, and crash cart trays to patient care areas, maintaining a high level of organization and attention to detail.
- Process and deliver controlled substances to patient care areas, ensuring accurate inventory and documentation.
- Collect and return medication orders and unused medications from patient care areas to the pharmacy for processing.
- Perform related charge functions and respond to requests and inquiries from hospital employees and customers.
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Licensed as a Pharmacy Technician in the State of Michigan by 10/1/15.
- Prior pharmacy experience and/or completion of formal pharmacy technician training, including knowledge of medical and pharmaceutical terminologies.
- Certification is preferred.
