Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Compensation Expert to join our team at Kamehameha Schools. As a key member of our HR department, you will be responsible for analyzing and designing compensation plans that align with our organization's goals and objectives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Workforce Planning Consultation
    • Collaborate with clients to advise on workforce planning strategies that meet the needs of the organization.
    • Consult with clients on the design of jobs and alignment of responsibilities into job family profiles.
  • Compensation Plan Governance
    • Work with HR leadership to facilitate meetings and presentations to the Compensation Advisory Committee.
    • Participate in the development and maintenance of compensation-related policies and procedures.
  • Policy and Procedure Development
    • Contribute to the development, administration, and maintenance of compensation-related policies and procedures.
  • Re-organization Consultation
    • Collaborate with the re-organization consultation team to assist the organization with major changes and re-organizations.
    • Act as a subject matter expert in workforce planning, workflow design, and position definition.
  • Coaching and Partnering/Collaboration
    • Collaborate with other HR teams on design, policy development, guidelines, and implementation of key compensation programs.
    • Act as a coach to Compensation Analysts on the team.
    • Partner with key stakeholders in HR, IT, and Finance to plan and manage change processes related to compensation programs and policies.
Requirements
  • Minimum Qualifications
    • Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources, Business, or a related field.
    • Minimum of 8 years of demonstrated experience in compensation or a related field.
    • Demonstrated understanding of employment and labor laws and regulations related to compensation and job design.
    • Demonstrated advanced level of understanding of the theories and principles of internal and external market analysis.
    • Demonstrated understanding of the broader business implications of decisions.
    • Demonstrated expert ability to consult with clients regarding workforce planning activities.
    • Experience in identifying and resolving systemic issues related to workforce planning, job design, or compensation analysis.
    • Strong oral and written skills to prepare comprehensive and clear written documents, presentations, and policies.
    • Training and/or work experience guiding and consulting with individuals, managers, and senior leaders.
    • Strong analytical skills to review statistical results and make practical and meaningful recommendations.
    • Excellent working knowledge of technology and proficiency in the use of HR Systems, spreadsheet, word processing, data management, and presentation applications.
    • Excellent organization and time management skills to manage competing priorities.
  • Preferred Qualifications
    • Experience working with HR Systems with compensation process functionality such as Workday, Ultipro, or PeopleSoft.
    • Currently recognized as a Certified Compensation Professional (CCP) by WorldatWork.
Physical and Mental Requirements
  • Frequently sits, performs desk-based computer tasks, and grasps light or fine manipulation, talks or hears.
  • Occasionally stands and/or walks, writes by hand, and lifts and/or carries, pushes and/or pulls objects that weigh up to 10 pounds.
  • Rarely twists, bends, stoops, squats, kneels, crawls, climbs, reaches, or works above shoulder, or grasps forcefully.
Working Conditions
  • This position may involve traveling to various locations, including neighbor islands to conduct business.
  • Work is conducted in an office environment and may require work to be conducted in non-standard workplaces.
  • Work is typically conducted Monday through Friday at normal business hours.
