POSITION SUMMARY
The Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory Nurse is primarily focused on providing care to patients undergoing diagnostic and interventional cardiac procedures. This role involves the insertion of both permanent and temporary pacemakers, as well as intra-aortic balloon pumps. The nurse is tasked with operating specialized medical equipment safely and efficiently, assisting in both diagnostic and interventional procedures, and ensuring comprehensive patient care throughout the process. This position operates under the direct oversight of a physician and the management team of the Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory.

POSITION DETAILS
We are seeking a qualified Cath Lab RN for a full-time, 10-hour day shift position, with a commitment of four days per week. This role is offered as a 13-week contract, with the possibility of extension.

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS
Candidate must be a graduate of an accredited Diploma, Associate, or Baccalaureate School of Nursing.
LICENSURE REQUIREMENTS
Must possess a current and unrestricted state license as a Registered Nurse in the relevant state.
EXPERIENCE
A minimum of two years of experience in a cardiac catheterization laboratory setting is required.
CREDENTIALS
Advanced CPR certifications, including BLS and ACLS, are mandatory.
WORKING ENVIRONMENT
Position may involve various healthcare facility settings, with potential exposure to blood, bodily fluids, and other infectious materials.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Adhere to ATC policies and procedures.
- Follow nursing policies and procedures of the client facility.
- Maintain accurate documentation of services provided.
- Ensure confidentiality of patient care and facility practices in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Effectively communicate pertinent information to appropriate personnel.
- Deliver required care while fostering a safe and therapeutic environment.
- Continuously assess and adjust the care plan based on patient responses.
- Perform ongoing nursing assessments of patients' physical and emotional needs, implementing necessary interventions.
- Provide patient care in a respectful and culturally sensitive manner, ensuring autonomy and dignity are upheld.
- Advocate for patient rights concerning advance directives and organ donation.
- Administer care to patients before, during, and after procedures in the cardiac catheterization laboratory.
- Conduct non-invasive hemodynamic monitoring, including telemetry and EKG interpretation.
- Assist physicians with both non-invasive and invasive diagnostic and interventional procedures.
- Maintain professional competency through ongoing education and compliance with state requirements.
- Adhere to ethical standards and professional nursing practices as defined by the American Nurses Association or equivalent organization.
- Be prepared to float across various campuses as needed.
- Willingness to participate in on-call duties.
