Job Summary

The Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory Nurse plays a critical role in the care of patients undergoing diagnostic cardiac catheterization, interventional cardiac procedures, and other specialized treatments. This position requires a high level of expertise and attention to detail, as the nurse will be responsible for operating specialized equipment, assisting with procedures, and providing patient care during the procedure.

Responsibilities
  • Comply with ATC policies and procedures
  • Comply with client facility nursing policies and procedures
  • Document services provided accurately and completely
  • Maintain confidentiality relative to patient care and facility practices
  • Communicate information effectively to appropriate personnel
  • Provide required care while maintaining a safe, therapeutic environment
  • Evaluate and modify the plan of care based on observable responses by the patient
  • Perform continuous nursing assessment of the patient's physical and emotional needs and corresponding therapeutic interventions
  • Provide patient services in a non-judgmental, non-discriminatory manner that considers cultural diversity and age appropriateness
  • Advocate patient rights with respect to advance directives and organ donation
  • Perform non-invasive hemodynamic monitoring, such as continuous telemetry monitoring and 12-lead EKG monitoring
  • Assist physician with non-invasive diagnostic procedures
  • Assist physician with invasive diagnostic procedures, such as cardiac catheterization
  • Assist physician with invasive interventional procedures, such as permanent pacemaker insertion
Requirements
  • Graduate of an accredited Diploma, Associate, or Baccalaureate School of Nursing
  • Current and unrestricted state license as a Registered Nurse in the state of practice
  • At least two years of experience as a cardiac catheterization laboratory nurse in a clinical setting
  • Advanced CPR credentials, including BLS and ACLS
