Position Overview
Applied Research Associates, Inc. is on the lookout for motivated entry-level and junior engineers from various disciplines, including Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical, and Systems Engineering. This role is integral to a series of projects focused on the modernization of production facilities for explosives and energetic materials, munitions manufacturing, and innovative system design.
Key Responsibilities
As a Junior Engineer, you will:
- Engage in research, development, testing, evaluation (RDT&E), and provide ongoing support for energetic systems.
- Collaborate with subject matter experts to ensure the safe and efficient execution of production capabilities for energetic materials and related applications.
- Foster and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders.
- Work under guided supervision while demonstrating the ability to independently devise and implement solutions.
- Commit to continuous learning to enhance and maintain technical expertise.
- Oversee project execution, including planning, scheduling, and procurement activities.
- Implement safety and quality assurance programs.
- Effectively manage and prioritize multiple assignments.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess:
- A Bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline or a related scientific field (such as physics or chemistry) with 0-2 years of relevant experience.
- The ability to deliver clear and concise written and oral presentations, tailoring content for specific audiences.
Preferred Qualifications
Additional qualifications that are advantageous include:
- An advanced degree in engineering or a related technical field.
- Experience in the production, handling, processing, and design of energetic materials for defense applications.
- Knowledge of process engineering and integration.
- Familiarity with quality requirements and system qualification processes.
- An active DOD or DOE security clearance.
