Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Traffic Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our transportation group, you will be responsible for performing technical traffic analyses, preparing technical studies, and leading challenging and varying projects. You will also mentor junior staff, communicate with clients and local and state agencies, and attend public hearings.

Key Responsibilities
  • Technical Traffic Analyses and Studies: Perform technical traffic analyses and prepare technical studies to support project development and implementation.
  • Project Management and Leadership: Lead challenging and varying projects, including traffic studies and signal designs, pedestrian safety, multi-modal operations, and roadway lighting design.
  • Mentorship and Training: Mentor junior staff and provide guidance and support to ensure their professional growth and development.
  • Client and Agency Communication: Communicate effectively with clients and local and state agencies, including attending public hearings and presenting project information.
  • Project Scope, Schedule, and Budget Management: Manage project scopes, schedules, and budgets to ensure successful project delivery.
  • Contract and Invoice Review: Assist with writing contracts and reviewing invoices to ensure accuracy and compliance.
  • Technical Accuracy and Documentation: Ensure the technical accuracy, standard engineering practices, and inclusion of appropriate documentation on various project plans, reports, and design documents.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
  • Experience: 8+ years of experience in traffic engineering with both private and public clients.
  • Project Management: Experience with project management, including leading projects and managing project scopes, schedules, and budgets.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent communication skills, including public speaking and presentation skills.
  • PE License: Professional Engineer (PE) license is required.
  • PTOE Certification: PTOE certification is a plus.
  • Traffic Analysis Software: Knowledge of traffic analysis software applications, including Synchro/SimTraffic and HCS.
